Virginia Tidmore Benson

Virginia T Benson, 94, passed away at her residence early Monday morning March 21st with her loving son and granddaughter by her side.  Marshall Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Graveside services will be held at Marshall Memorial Gardens at 11:00 am Friday, March 25th, 2022, with brothers Phillip Gilliland and Joey Cannady officiating.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Watson, Adam Pruitt, Doug Richardson and Scott McDonald.

Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband EC Benson; her parents Thurston and Viola Tidmore; and her siblings:  Edward Neal Tidmore, TV Tidmore, Gilbert Tidmore, and Era Hudgins.

Virginia was born in Grassy but lived most of her life in Albertville.  She attended the Albertville School System and graduated in the 1940’s.  After she graduated, she went on a blind date and met the love of her life EC Benson.  They were married for over 50 years before she lost her loving EC.  Their loving son, Conar carries on the family name.

Virginia was a dedicated mother who worked hard to provide for her young son.  She worked Kindle Mills, then went on to work on Wayne Farms doing the payroll.

Virginia is survived by her devoted son Conar Benson and his wife Danette, and her loving granddaughter Tory Benson.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 am until the start of the service.
