Sammie O Lang

Sammie O Lang, 74 of Albertville, passed Tuesday July 16, 2019 at Marshall Medical Center in Boaz. Services will be held at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home in Albertville with burial immediately following in Marshall Memory Gardens on July 19, 2019 at 2:00 pm.

Sammie loved to cut up with everyone and never met a stranger. She loved her cats and was known to some as The Cat Lady.   She was an outdoors person and always enjoyed being outside with the flowers.  Sammie was a fisherwoman at heart and loved to fish anytime she got a chance.  She loved to take care of others.

Her 2 grandsons, Zach and Colten were the highlight of her life.  She was happiest when she was spending time with her grandsons, by cheering Zach on at sporting events or listening to Colten play the trombone.

Sammie was a lifelong resident of Albertville who was a member of the 1963 class of Albertville High School.  She was employed for many years at Creative Printer where she worked as a typesetter.

Sammie will greatly be missed by her son, Donald Lang of Albertville, Stepson Michael Lang of North Carolina, stepdaughters Lori Lang of Georgia and Karen Graves of Texas; her loving grandsons Zach Lang and Colten Lang; Sisters Marie Austin of Indiana and Laquitta Simpson of Florida and a host of nieces and nephews.

Sammie was proceeded in death by her husband, Olen Jerry Lang; and her parents, Samuel and Euphemie Ogle; and sisters Lois Bailey and Gwen Smith.

Family will receive visitors July 18, 2019 from 6 to 8 at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home.
