Nolvies Smith, 91, passed away at her home in Albertville on February 20th, 2021, surrounded by her family. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Marshall Memorial Gardens with Josh Sullivan officiating.
Nolvies was preceded in death by her loving husband Emmett Smith; her sons Terry Smith, Al Smith and infant son John David Smith, her son-in-law Allen Karr; her daughter in law Sheila Smith; her grandson Daniel Smith and her parents Hubie Lee and Neoma Grizzard.
Nolvies was born in Georgia, but moved to Alabama, where she married Emmett Smith. They were blessed with 6 children, 5 of whom lived to adulthood. Emmett and Nolvies enjoyed over 60 years of a loving marriage until his death.
Nolvies was a homemaker who loved being outdoors. Her passion was growing elephant ear plants that were so tall they reached over her head. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Dennis Smith; her daughters Debra Karr and Laura Price and her husband Ricky; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family is requesting no flowers or food be sent, instead donate to Shepard’s Cove Hospice in her name.
