Marzell Rives Southerland

Marzell R. Southerland, 88, gained her heavenly wings on Friday, February 25th, 2022, with her loving children by her side.  Marshall Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday, February 28th, 2022, with Brother Rick Holland officiating.  Burial will follow in Marshall Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be:  Ronnie Carnes, Richard Carnes, Lawrence Rives, Roger Rives, William Garrett and Tanner Southerland.

Marzell was preceded in death by her husband Coy Southerland, and her sons Travis Southerland and Tony Southerland.

Marzell was born to Oscar and Minnie Lee Rives in Albertville, Alabama, where she attended the Albertville School System.  She graduated in 1952.  She married the love of her life Coy Southerland on September 13th, 1953.  Their family was complete with the birth of their 4 children:  Travis, Tony, Arlene, and Coy Wayne.

Mrs. Southerland is survived by her children:  Arlene Holland and her husband Rick; Coy Wayne Southerland and his wife Laurie; her grandchildren:  Megan Deborah Southerland and Tanner Wayne Southerland and Tabitha; and her great grandchild Hadley Sue Southerland.

The family will receive friends Sunday February 27th, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home.
