Lionel Wilbur Gary

Lionel Wilbur Gary, 84, of Albertville, passed away early Tuesday, March 12th, 2024 at Diversicare in Boaz.  Marshall Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 15th, 2024 with ER Hall and Sid Rowe officiating at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home.

Lionel was preceded in death by his adoring wife Reba; his parents Harmon and Sibyl Gary, his brother Dwight Gary and brother-in-law Ron Ideker.

Lionel was the oldest of 4 children born to Harmon and Sibyl Gary.  They grew up on a farm in the country and Lionel developed a love of animals that lasted his entire life. 

He married his loving wife Reba and they enjoyed nearly 50 years of marriage until her passing in 2011.

He was a faithful Christian and attended the East Albertville Church of Christ for over 50 years.

He loved his children dearly and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Gary is survived by his children Mary Davis and her husband Tim and Jon Gary and his wife Stacey; his grandchildren:  Hannah Martin, Luke Gary, Jared Davis, Aven Bennett and Naomi Gary; great grandchildren:  Raelyn, Emma, Riley, Sam, Lucas and future Baby Davis; his sisters Annette Ideker and Nila Young (Glen) and his sister-in-law Jeanine Gary.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 7:30 pm on Thursday, March 14th, 2024 at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home.
