Obituary

Keri Estes Harris, 43, passed away early Monday morning, July 27th, 2020 at Marshall Medical Center South in Boaz.  Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 30th, 2020 at 11:00 am at  Marshall Memorial Funeral Home with Brother Willis Kelly officiating.   Burial will follow afterwards in Marshall Memory Gardens.

Keri was born and raised in Gallant to her parents Johnny and Brenda Estes.  She attended Etowah Elementary and Etowah Middle School, before graduating from West End High School in 1995.  She attended Jefferson State in Birmingham after high school.

She met the love of her life Jason Harris and they dated for 2 years, before he convinced her to marry him.  They were married for 19 years filled with love.  They were a small family of 3 with their son Justin, until Hunter was born.  Their family was not completed until Luke joined the family a few years later.

Keri worked at MPS Express in Geraldine up until the time of her passing as the Office Manager.  She was such a valuable employee, that they are not sure what they are going to do without her.

One of her nieces wrote a beautiful tribute about Keri:

“you were alive five seconds ago.

You were here five minutes ago.

You laughed with someone five hours ago.

You gave someone one of your hugs five minutes ago.

You walked in the door at Maw-Maw’s house five months ago.

Yesterday you were part of the planning.

Now we make arrangements without you.

Yesterday you were smiling and hugging people so tight.

Now we bury your lifeless body.

A strong woman, a wonderful wife, a magnificent mom, a loving grandma, an exuberant aunt, a kind soul.

We will always remember you.

We will always cherish you.

We will always look for you walking in the door.”

Keri was known by her son’s and her son’s friends as “a mother to all”; her house was always open and welcoming to her son’s friends; she treated her son’s friends like they were her own.  She was a Mom to All.
