Jerry Dennis Cordell

Jerry Dennis Cordell, 83, of Albertville passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021, at Huntsville Hospital.  Marshall Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Brother James Bridges and Brother Matt Long will officiate, with Mister Darron Rice providing the eulogy. The service will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday June 23, 2021, at Rocky Branch Holiness Church in Guntersville.  Mr. Cordell will lie in state from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at the church.  Burial will follow afterwards at Rocky Branch Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Betty; Steve Betty; Mack Frolik; Daryl Rice; Darron Rice and Kenny Shadix.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dillon Kolody-Cordell, Lee Cordell, and Tyler Cordell.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Jean Rice Cordell, his father Dennis Lee Cordell and his mother Zelma Chi Chi Cordell.

Jerry was born on November 5, 1937, in Albertville.  He married Jean Rice, and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage until her death in 2011. 

Jerry is survived by his children:  Tim Cordell (Shirley); Antonia Cordell; Keith Cordell (Wendy); Susan Cordell; Julie Cordell; and Bryan Cordell; 13 grandchildren:  Dillon Kolody-Cordell; Lee Cordell (Emma); Tyler Cordell (Leah); Anna Grace Holman (Brayden); Jeri Lynn Cordell; Sarah Cordell; Heather Cordell; Addison Hasty; Alivia Hasty; and Tucker Hasty; 1 great grandchild Mila Jean Cordell; sisters Sue Pollard; Katie Betty; and Gwen Irvin; 21 nephews and 16 nieces.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 21, 2021, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home.
