Carolyn (Kirby) Rooks

Carolyn Kirby Rooks, 77, passed away Thursday June 11th, 2020 at her home with her son and grandchildren by her side.  Funeral services will be held Sunday June 14th, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home with Brother Gregg Whitt officiating.  Burial will follow afterwards in Marshall Memory Gardens.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Dozier and Lessie Kirby; her sons Perry Nash and Steven Nash; her grandson Ty Nash; her granddaughter Lindsey Nash; her brothers and some of her sisters.

Carolyn was born and raised in Snead where she attended Susan Moore High School.  She graduated high school in 1962.  Afterwards she got married and started her family.  She had 3 boys that she raised with a strong work ethic after her own.

She was known for her generosity towards her friends and neighbors.  She was always putting others before herself.

Carolyn was a Christian who put God first in her life.  She loved her church family and was in attendance whenever she was able.  She attended the Garden of Gethsame Church until she was unable to attend regularly.

Carolyn is survived by her loving son Tony Nash and her daughter in law Kathy Nash; her 3 adoring grandchildren Clark Nash; Justin Nash and his husband Perry; and Angel Dean and her husband Tyler; her 3 great grandchildren Kade, Clay and John Luke and several sisters.

Visitation will be Sunday June 14th at 12 PM until the start of the service at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home.
