Guntersville

Timothy Wayne Strickland, known lovingly as “Tim,” passed away peacefully at home on December 1, 2025. He was 67 years old. Born on January 29, 1958 in Waycross, Georgia, Tim was the cherished son of Bob and Linda Strickland.

A proud graduate of Jacksonville State University, Tim earned his Bachelor of Science degree before going on to build a successful career as the owner of his own marketing agency. His creativity, humor, and sharp eye—especially for grammar—shaped both his professional work and his daily life.

Tim honorably served his country in the United States Army, an experience that helped form the steady positivity and strength for which he was so well known. He made his home in Guntersville, where he built a life filled with love, laughter, and music.

On December 19, 2001, Tim married the love of his life, Loretta Wilbanks. Together, they created a warm and joyful home, one Tim filled with his signature dad jokes, spontaneous songs, and playful rewrites of radio lyrics. Whether he was singing along, cracking a joke, or reaching for a MoonPie, he brought lightness and laughter to those around him. His kindness, humor, and unwavering optimism were gifts he shared freely.

Tim was preceded in death by his beloved son, Aiden Strickland.

He is survived by his loving wife, Loretta Strickland; and his children: Kate Strickland Walker (Ryan), Kimberly Brennaman (Kyle), Brooklyn Green (Christina), and Brandon Green (Kelsie); and by his devoted parents, Bob and Linda Strickland. He also leaves behind his siblings—Bobby Strickland, Dave Strickland, and Anna Mavromat—as well as a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home, which is honored to handle the arrangements. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service.

Tim’s warmth, humor, and joyful spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy lives on in every story told, every laugh shared, and every song sung just a little off-lyrics.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Crestwood ALS for Aiden Foundation. The address is Crestwood ALS Clinic at 610 Airport Road, Suite 100 in Huntsville, AL 35801.
