Robert “Danny” Conley, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home on March 14, 2025, with his loving family by his side.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home, with Brothers Dustin Peat and Brandon Love officiating. Burial will follow at Marshall Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
Pallbearers will be Chris Bryan, Christopher Bryan, Cole Bryan, Steve Carver, David Jackson, and Brice Jackson.
Danny was born and raised in Alabama. He began his education at Snead State before transferring to Athens College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Procurement. A proud veteran, Danny served in the U.S. Navy for four years before being honorably discharged. He went on to work for Wilbert Vault and Liberty National Insurance before building a long and successful career as a procurement analyst at Redstone Arsenal, where he remained until his retirement.
In 1971, Danny married the love of his life, Charlotte. Together they shared nearly 54 years of love, partnership, and dedication to family. Danny was a devoted husband and father who took great pride in raising their sons, John and Eric. He was a kind and compassionate man who found joy in simple moments spent with loved ones.
After retiring, Danny and Charlotte embraced their love of travel, journeying together across the United States. Preferring the open road over the skies, they visited 48 states—only missing Rhode Island and Indiana.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Lance and Roberta Conley, and his chosen son, John Jackson Garrett. He is survived by his beloved wife, Charlotte; his son, Eric Conley; his brother-in-law, David Jackson (Paige); and numerous cousins.
Danny will be remembered for his quiet strength, his unwavering love for his family, and the warm, generous heart that touched all who knew him.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.
