Nellie Walker, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, in Albertville, Alabama, at the age of 84. She was born on April 2, 1942, in Grant, Alabama, a place that would always remain close to her heart.

Nellie was the cherished daughter of Harvey Walker and Lela Mae Walker, both of whom preceded her in death. She grew up surrounded by a loving family that instilled in her the values of kindness, resilience, and compassion—virtues she carried throughout her life and shared generously with all those she met.

She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family, nurturing close bonds that will endure through generations. Nellie will be dearly missed by her devoted daughter, Yvonne Healy, and her loving son, Terry Ryan. Her siblings, Martha Lusk and David Walker, survive her and remember her as a constant source of strength and grace. Nellie is also remembered fondly by the memory of her son, Steven Lee Ryan Sr, whose loss she bore with remarkable strength, carrying his spirit in her heart.

Nellie’s legacy is reflected in her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly: Cody Ryan, Ben Ryan, Steven Ryan Jr, Lauren Moses, Adam Bright, and Kylie Ryan. Their lives have been deeply enriched by her warmth and wisdom.

Family and friends are invited to honor Nellie’s memory at a visitation on Saturday, July 11, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home, located at 3368 AL Hwy 205 N, Albertville, AL 35950. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home, with interment at Marshall Memorial Gardens immediately afterwards.

While she will be deeply missed, Nellie Walker’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved and all whose lives she touched. Her memory remains a cherished legacy of love, kindness, and steadfast devotion.
