Laura Mae Black

Laura Mae Black, 82, of Union Grove, passed away at Shepherd's Cove on Thursday, September 25, 2014. Services will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Carolyn Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Brookwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Black has always lived in this area. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church. Mrs. Black retired from Chrysler. After retirement, she enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening and canning.
She is preceded in death by her husband; George Black, parents; Harve and Della Jones and sister; Rhonda Ponder.
Survivors include her son, David Black; daughter, Betty Jones; grandchildren: David Black II, Carolynn Black, Brian Black and Kristen Owens, great-grandchildren: Dakota Black, Autumn Black, Gracie Owens and Waylon Black, brothers: Wayne Jones, Donald Jones, John Jones, Sonny Jones; sisters: Nell Kelley and Sarah Wright.
Pallbearers will Mark Jones, Ronnie Jones, Roger Jones, Rodney Jones, Randy Jones, Jeff Jones, Charlie Shumate and Shannon Wright.
