Kayla Wise, age 25, of Boaz, Alabama, passed away on December 27, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Kayla was born by C-section, making her entrance into the world with her hand out first — a fitting beginning for someone who lived life boldly and on her own terms. She was a lifelong resident of Marshall County and a graduate of Guntersville High School, Class of 2018.
Kayla later earned her CNA certification and worked in nursing homes in the Douglasville/Arab area, where her caring heart and desire to help others shined through. Taking care of people wasn’t just her job — it was who she was.
Kayla had a caring soul and a big heart. She loved deeply, laughed loudly, and had a contagious smile that filled a room. She was helpful, loving, down-to-earth, and unapologetically herself — proudly admitting she was “a hot mess” at times. She could be high-maintenance, stubborn, and rebellious, but she was also genuine, fiercely loyal, and full of love. Kayla loved making people laugh, talked to her mom every single day, and had a personality that left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Lynn Walker (Patrick) of Boaz; sisters, Keaston (Hunter) Walker of Ft. Payne and Jessica Belue of Albertville; brothers, Austin Ray (Timberly) Wise of Douglas; Remy Burchett of Douglas and Patrick Burchette JR; grandparents Terry and Gwen Walker of Guntersville; Aunts: Sandy Stevens Owens of Boaz; Candie Dewitt of Guntersville; Amanda Blaine and Crystal Breaseale; uncles Blaine Breaseale; David Cagle and Keith Jones; cousins DJ Johnson (Amber); Autumn Morris (Dylan); River Morris; Zayne Johnson; Zayden Johnson; Lyric Morris; Corey Dewitt (Bre); Zack Dewitt (Morgan); Gabe Breaseale; Haley Adams and Jathan Brown and a host of more cousins; niece Arabella Faith and nephews Brantley Rogue and Atlas Dasan and wife MaKayla Fugatt.
She was preceded in death by her dad Carlos Ray Shores; uncles Phillip Brown and Bryan Keith Kitchens; grandmother Cynthia Diane Smith and grandfather Kevin Harville.
Pallbearers will be Keaston Wise, Austin Wise, Timberly Wise, D.J. Johnson, Hunter Cochran, and Patrick Jon Burchett II.
Kayla will be remembered for her laughter, her honesty, her big heart, and the love she gave so freely. She lived loudly, loved deeply, and left this world knowing she was loved.
