Gerald Perkins

Gerald Perkins, a dedicated restaurant owner and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, at Rehab Select in Albertville, Alabama. Born on March 6, 1940, in Mississippi, Gerald lived a life marked by hard work, commitment, and devotion to his family and country.

Throughout his life, Gerald proudly served in the Air National Guard, exemplifying honor and duty to his nation. Following his military service, he continued to serve his community as a respected restaurant owner, establishing a legacy of hospitality and care.

Gerald was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Horace and Becky Perkins, who raised him with love and instilled in him the values that guided his life. Awaiting him in Heaven was his beloved wife of 50 years, Robbie Perkins, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, devotion and cherished memories. 

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted family, including his sons Donald Perkins and his wife Johnna, Jody Perkins and his wife Jessica, Tony Tidwell and his wife Lisa, Marty Tidwell and his wife Rae, and Scott Tidwell and his wife Kristen. Gerald's daughter, Sonya Scott, and her husband Mark also carry forward his legacy with love and pride. He is also survived by his siblings Betty Lacorte and Nathan Perkins.

Gerald’s family was further enriched by his treasured grandchildren: Nathan Perkins and his wife Samantha, Caleb Perkins, Colt Perkins, Greenly Motes, Ryan Bolding, Jessica Davis and her husband Jonathan, Matt Perkins and his wife Sara, Zach Scott and his wife Taylor, Dylan Scott and his wife Anna, Lauren Carter and her husband Jarrod, Cali Graham and her husband Jonathan, Ashley Harris and her husband Michael, and Dylan Tidwell and his wife Britney, Katie Tidwell and Amberly Diaz. The joy he found in family extended into the next generation through his great-grandchildren Charleigh, Brody, Emma Grace, Caroline Faith, Ava Anne, Jack, Sawyer, Charlotte, Aliyah, Emerson, Lakota and Lily.

A visitation to honor Gerald’s life will be held on June 5, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the Marshall Memorial Funeral Home located at 3368 AL Hwy 205 N in Albertville, AL 35950. This will be followed immediately by a funeral service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.

Gerald’s life was one of service—to his family, his community, and his country. While he will be deeply missed, his spirit endures in the hearts of all who knew him. We extend our deepest sympathies to the Perkins and Tidwell families during this difficult time. May Gerald Perkins rest in peace and may his memory be a blessing to all.
