Dorothy Dean Sims Dollar

Dorothy Dean Sims Dollar, a devoted caregiver and beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home, with Brothers Chris Sims and Donnie Sims officiating. She will be laid to rest at Marshall Memorial Gardens. Marshall Memorial Funeral Home is honored to handle the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Williams, Caleb Williams, John Clay Dollar, Cade Dollar, and Cale Dollar. Honorary pallbearers are John Wilson Dollar and George Dollar.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband: John Dollar; her daughter Selena Dollar; her parents Grover and Dot Sims; and her siblings: Donald Ray Sims; Lavon Sims; Earnest Sims; Freddie Sims and Elica Maples.

Dorothy was known for her sweet, kind, and giving spirit. She had a heart full of compassion and lived her life in service to others. She was a loving caregiver for her daughter for 24 years and later opened her heart and home to care for her aunt. Caregiving was not just something Dorothy did, it was who she was. Her love for her family and selfless dedication to their well-being defined her life and left a lasting legacy.

Dorothy is survived by her children Kim Williams (Andy) and Shirl Dollar (Leigh); her grandsons Jacob Williams (Katie); Caleb Williams (Abbie); John Clay Dollar (Tori); Cade Dollar and Cale Dollar; her great-grandchildren John Wilson Dollar; George Dollar and Ellison Claire Williams; her brother Darrell Sims (Carolyn); a host of nieces and nephews and special sisters-in-law.

She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the start of the service on Wednesday.
