Clifford Chaney, 52, of Guntersville, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.
Clifford had a gift for bringing joy to every room he entered. Known as a true jokester who could never stay serious for long, he had a way of making everyone around him laugh and smile, even on the hardest days. His infectious sense of humor and playful spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.
A devoted father and grandfather, Clifford cherished every moment with his family. Whether he was out golfing with his sons—a passion he shared with them regularly—or drumming along to his beloved Creed on the dashboard during school drop-offs, he knew how to turn ordinary moments into treasured memories. Above all else, Clifford was a man of remarkable strength and deep love for his family. His presence was a source of comfort, his love a constant force that held them together.
Clifford is survived by his sons, Jonathan Chaney and Casey Chaney (Dakota); his grandchildren, Bentley and Kannon Chaney, who brought him immense pride and joy; and his sister, Donna Whitlock; brothers Timothy Chaney and David Chaney (Loria). He will be profoundly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby Jo Chaney and Charles Edward Chaney.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating Clifford's life will take place on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., also at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Marshall Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Jon Chaney, Braylon Noblitt, Hunter Bowden, Jordan Bolding, Matthew Boone, and Scott Gray.
Marshall Memorial Funeral Home is honored to serve the Chaney family during this difficult time.
