The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Brenda was preceded in death by her husbands, Tony Walker and Jerry Lee; her parents, Austin and Octavia Ellis; and her sister, Faye Ellis.
Brenda was born and raised in Brundidge, Alabama, where she spent much of her early life before moving to Albertville with her husband, Tony Walker, when he accepted a position at Elmore 5 & Dime. Brenda was a joyful spirit, well known for her wit and warmth — many lovingly described her as “a mess,” always quick with a laugh or a good story.
She was a devoted member of 2nd Baptist Church in Boaz and enjoyed a quiet life surrounded by family, good books, and the simple pleasures of southern living. Brenda had a passion for reading, often found immersed in the works of John Grisham, Pat Conroy, or Nora Roberts. She also loved to fish whenever she had the chance and found great joy in cooking for her loved ones.
She is survived by her children: Toby Walker (Kelly), Payne Walker, and Amber Byrd (Jonta); grandchildren: Brody Walker, Logan Walker, Gavin Donald, Donovan Walker, Garrett Walker, and Jack Donald; great-grandchildren: Finn Walker, Raelyn Walker, Tavy Walker, Sawyer Walker, and Teddy Walker; and her sister, Louise Danner (Franklin).
Brenda’s love for her family, her faith, and her warm, spirited presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
