Nancy Lousie Harris Sims, 83, of Sims Community passed away Saturday, January 13th, 2024, surrounded by her family.  Marshall Memorial Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.  Rev Glenn Pankey and Rev Jeff Sims will be officiating the service at 11am on Friday, January 19th, 2024, at Pleasant Hill II Church.

Pallbearers will be Ben Whitehead, Isaac Sims, Jeremy Maddox, Jed Sims, Zach Whitehead, Daniel Blackwell, James Pierce and Taylor Sims and Bobby Dan Pierce.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Bobby R Sims; her parents:  Ray and Susie Harris; her son-in-law Stanley Maddox; Brothers:  Arvil Harris, E Jay Harris, and Wayne Harris.

Nancy was raised in the Hyatt Community in a family of 9 children.  She grew up on the Harris family farm surrounded with fresh air and nature where she learned to raise, preserve, and prepare food.

She attended Douglas High School and Married Bobby on Friday, September 13, 1957.  They settled in the Sims Community to start their family.  Nancy became a member and raised her children at Pleasant Hill II in Sims Community.    She worked for 30 years at HD Lee plant in Guntersville and Bryant Manufacturing and retired from Marshall County Court House in 2018.

Nancy was a great cook who could be counted on to have wonderful dishes anytime the family got together.  She loved her family and loved nothing more than hosting her family anytime she could call it a "holiday".    She spoiled her grandkids and great grandkids so much that it was always a fight on whose turn it was to stay with Mamaw.

Nancy is survived by her son Neal Sims (Brooke), Paula Jarvis (Mike), Sondra Whitehead (Tommy), Kellie Blackwell (Danny), 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 sister Oma Dee Harris: 4 brothers; Bill Harris, Leon Harris (Betty), Roy Harris, Joe Harris (Bonnie) and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday night from 5PM-7PM at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home.
