Samuel Looney

Mr. Samuel Looney, age 85 of Guntersville said goodbye to this world Thursday night September 20, 2018 at his home with family. He was born in Guntersville on July 15, 1933 to Horace and Cora Moore Looney. He was married to Mrs. Flora Whiteside Looney for over 50 years before her passing in 2011.

Mr. Looney is survived by his children Irene Wiggs and Rodney Looney; his 10 grandchildren: Zachary Wiggs (Elizabeth), Joshua Wiggs, Shandy Wiggs, Duran Wiggs, Rodney Justin Looney, Jaron Looney, Josiah Looney, Jada Looney, Nicholas Vanzandt and Tyla Vanzandt; 11 great grandchildren: Sydney Wiggs, Zachary Wiggs, Jr., Eli Wiggs, Nora Wiggs, Miaya Lang, Emeron Havis, Kaya Davis, Mekhi Carmen, Jalen Edwards, Jourdyn Henderson and Matai Vanzandt and one great granddaughter, Noēlle Erica Grace Henderson, born September 22, 2018. Mr. Looney is also survived by several brothers-in-law: Vernon Whiteside, Jessie Whiteside, Jr., Charles Whiteside and James Whiteside and several sisters-in-law: Thelma Hardnick, Bertha Chapple and Clara Whiteside Curry as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and three children: Samuel Looney Jr., Donnell Looney and Cynthia Vanzandt. 

He will be missed by all who knew him.
