Flora (Brooks) Wilborn

Flora Brooks Wilborn, 72, passed away Monday, January 13th, 2020 at Huntsville Hospital with her husband, her two children and her loving family by her side.  Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 17th, 2020 at 11 AM at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Brooks officiating.  Burial will follow afterwards at Memory Hill Cemetery in Albertville.

Flora was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Ollie Brooks; and 2 grandchildren who were angels.

Mrs. Wilborn was born and raised in Marshall County.  She was a 1965 graduate of Albertville High School and after she graduated, she met the love of her life Billy Ray Wilborn.

Billy and Flora married January 14th, 1967 and enjoyed a 53-year marriage filled with love and laughter.  Their first child Billy Ray Wilborn Jr was born 4 years after they married and brought immense joy to the loving couple.  4 years later, their family was complete with the birth of their beautiful daughter Regina.

Flora enjoyed a wonderful life providing for her family as the domestic engineer.  She loved nothing more than providing for her husband and her 2 children.

After her children started school, she enjoyed a career working as an administrative assistant analyzing data for the companies that she worked for at the time.

One of her many passions was genealogy, she was very interested in finding out the DNA results of her family, including her brothers and sisters. 

In her spare time, she was always doing crosswords and sudoku puzzles.

Flora is survived by her loving husband Billy Wilborn; her son Ray Wilborn and his wife Tracy; her daughter Regina Vick; her grandson Jeffery James Vick Jr; her brothers William Brooks and his wife Karen and Robert Brooks and his wife Cynthia; and her sister Joyce Brooks Baugh; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 PM-8 PM, Thursday, January 16th, 2020 at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home.
