Coy Bean

Mr. Coy Bean age 86 of Horton passed away at Valley View Health and Rehab on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. He was born in Marshall county on January 3, 1932 to James Burgess and Minnie Lee Johnson Bean. He changed his year of birth to 1931 to enlist a year early in the Army to serve his country. He later joined the Navy. Mr. Bean retired from the Marshall Space Flight Center. He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Mrs. Velma Gunter Bean; his only daughter, Sylvia Lay (Tim) of Decatur; one granddaughter, Courtney Nicole Lay of Decatur; he is also survived by his special Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bud and Corene Terrell as well as a host of friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Billy Ray Bean, John Bean and James Burgess Bean Jr. and sisters, Ruby Tankersly, Ruth Baker, Willi Mae Carver and Daisy LaRue;

A visitation will be held on Wednesday July 25th from 12-2 pm with service beginning at 2:00 pm
